Foreword

The bibliography is an essential part of your thesis, which must be prepared from the early stages of your research work.

In order to compile a useful reference database, you must be aware of and master the literature search tools available: catalogue and database querying, journal aggregators, scientific search engines.

Definition

The personal reference database is developed by researchers during their research work, whether they are preparing a thesis or writing a book or a scholarly article.

It focuses on a research topic or a broader subject matter. It is a collection of the bibliographic references that describe all useful resources irrespective of their format.

Using reference management software allows you to automatically extract a bibliography and link the full text of the corresponding document. It is also possible to share references with other researchers.
