Introduction

Netvibes is an aggregator. It is a free customizable portal, offering the opportunity to bring together in a single space, either public or private, everything you need on the web : tools, applications, information, etc.

Netvibes is a communication and monitoring tool, allowing you to build your own Dashboard, updated automatically in real time. From a single interface, you can thus follow the news from many sites, or facilitate access to the information for other Internet users.

Brief history

logo netvibes

Netvibes was created in 2005 by a French company. As a competitor of the (former) iGoogle service launched by Google, it is today one of the examples of "web 2.0" in France.

This customizable web portal uses the RSS standards, Atom and iCal, to aggregate content published by other sites. This is made possible by the use of AJAX technology.
