ScienceDirect, in its full version, is a database that provides full-text access to 2,500 peer-reviewed scholarly journals in the following fields: Physical Sciences and Engineering, Life Sciences, Health Sciences, and Social Sciences and Humanities.
It is a database of journals published by Elsevier, one of the leading international scientific publishers.
Texts published before 1995 are not included in the subscription purchased by the UEB''s higher education establishments.
- ScienceDirect is remotely accessible from the ENT platform (digital workspace) or the library''s website (after identification).
- The subscription fee paid by each higher education establishment to access this resource is based not only on the scope of the subscription (number of titles and how old a journal is) but also of course on the number of members (students, professors, researchers, staff) of the university community. It is for this reason that individuals who do not belong to this community cannot access the resource and that PhD students are not authorised to download articles for a third party (doctor''s practice, company, etc.).
- Articles are protected by copyright and cannot be reproduced without the publisher''s consent.
